Xmas Greetings from Malta 1943

After a long stretch of duty in the combined operations room at the Lascaris war rooms, the memories of Christmas and home were at the forefront of Gordon’s thoughts. Like many other young men, Gordon aged 20 was serving in the R.A.F based on Malta and serving in Algiers as part of the Aircraft Combat Intelligence (ACI). Christmas was a lonely time when thoughts of family and loved ones were ever-present and the banter of fellow-men were welcome distractions.

Air Headquarters was planning a special Christmas feast this year following the success of operation Hunter. Here is a copy of the Menu and a Christmas card issued by the RAF for their troops to send home.
